El Prado Golf Courses

As the El Prado story goes, pioneers from St. Louis made the journey out west to settle the newly adopted State of California. The 2,700-mile journey was primarily made by stagecoach, with the ultimate destination of San Francisco.

El Prado has named each of its two Harry and David Rainwille-designed, 18-hole championship courses after this little bit of California history. The "Butterfield Stage" course was named after a near-by stagecoach watering hole along the route to San Francisco. The other course, "Chino Creek," was named for the area's rivers and creeks that each stagecoach needed to cross to reach their destination.

In keeping with the area's Wild West-California and Spanish-influenced design, the El Prado property sports mission tile, arched openings, large roof overhangs and colorful patio areas.

Both golf courses are enjoyable for all levels of player, with wide-open fairways, large mature trees and just enough bunkers and water holes to make your day memorable. El Prado Golf Courses is said to be user friendly and easy to walk over the most gentle of rolling hills. Over the many years the courses have had rave reviews on the appearance and playability of the putting greens.

While playing at El Prado it's not unusual to see Red Tail Hawks, migratory ducks, birds and Canadian geese. Stand still, take a panoramic look around. You might see a coyote scampering across the fairway in the early morning.
