Meadows Golf Club
Located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and the University Town Center area, Meadows Golf Club has entered an exciting new chapter. Now managed by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, this longtime Florida golf destination is undergoing a comprehensive restoration and revitalization effort designed to return both of its courses to premier playing conditions. With 36 holes of golf, modern course improvements, and a convenient location along Florida’s Suncoast, Meadows Golf Club is quickly reestablishing itself as one of the area’s top public golf experiences.
The centerpiece of the property is the Meadows Course, a championship layout originally designed by Francis Dwayne in 1976 and later redesigned by renowned architect Ron Garl in 2004. Stretching from 5,029 to 6,572 yards across five sets of tees, the course offers a fair but demanding challenge for golfers of all abilities. Spacious fairways, strategic hazards, and quick, undulating TifEagle greens place a premium on thoughtful course management while rewarding well-executed shots. Golfers will also appreciate GPS-equipped golf carts, a feature rarely found at competing facilities in the region.
Complementing the championship layout is the Groves Course, an Arthur Hills design that delivers a distinctly different experience. This par-65 executive-style course winds through more than 50 acres of natural Florida scenery, combining tight fairways, sloping greens, and strategic shot values that make it play much tougher than its yardage might suggest. Featuring eight par-3s, nine par-4s, and a lone par-5, the Groves rewards precision and accuracy while providing an enjoyable round for players looking to sharpen their short and mid-range games.
Since assuming management in March 2026, Arnold Palmer Golf Management has invested heavily in restoring the property. More than 50,000 square feet of new sod has been installed across key playing areas, including greens, tee boxes, the practice putting green, and driving range. Both courses have received wall-to-wall fertilization programs, targeted weed and pest control treatments, new flags and tee markers, and comprehensive agronomic improvements designed to enhance overall turf quality. The driving range now features both grass and mat hitting surfaces, allowing golfers to enjoy a more authentic practice experience while maintaining healthy turf conditions.
The improvements extend beyond the golf courses themselves. Meadows Golf Club offers a full practice facility, beautiful natural surroundings, and easy accessibility from throughout the Sarasota region. Whether you’re looking for a championship test on the Meadows Course or a strategic, shot-making challenge on the Groves, you’ll find two distinct experiences that showcase the best of Florida golf.
With significant restoration work already completed and additional improvements still underway, there has rarely been a better time to experience the new Meadows Golf Club.
