Anderson Creek Golf Club

Tucked into the Carolina Sandhills between Raleigh and the Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Aberdeen Golf area, Anderson Creek Golf Club is among the best the region has to offer. With its traditional design elements and a focus on maintaining exceptional course conditions, it's no wonder Anderson Creek has earned accolades such as "Best New Course in North Carolina 2001" right from the start.

Designed by PGA Tour professional and North Carolina native Davis Love III, winner of the 1997 PGA Championship, Anderson Creek Golf Club perfectly represents his commitment to preserving the integrity and character of the course's existing terrain. The look and feel of Anderson Creek is certainly impressive; long, lush fairways cut sharply through forests of longleaf pine, lovegrass outlines wide natural areas, and the undulating greens are fast and true. It is exactly this painstaking attention to detail that earned Anderson Creek a 4 1/2-star rating from Golf Digest in 2008.

"Anderson Creek is one of the finest courses I’ve played."
— Davis Love III, PGA Tour veteran and PGA Championship winner

While you stand admiring this classic beauty from the first tee box, don’t lose sight of the many challenging shots that lay ahead on Love III's first signature course in the state. The front half of this lengthy 7,215-yard course demands accuracy above all and rewards players hitting a draw, as most holes feature a dogleg-left of varying degrees. The back nine opens up notably, with wider, straighter fairways. Fewer doglegs mean farther drives and a more aggressive playing style, so these are the holes on which to go for it. A word of caution, however: Avoid the scattered fairway bunkers and natural areas, because these long holes require a strong setup for your approach.

To better prepare for the cart path ahead, be sure to stop by the driving range, which offers a multitude of targets perfect for both quick warmups or prolonged practice. Then, get a feel for these large greens with a few putts on the 10,000 square-foot practice green located just outside the clubhouse. The Anderson Creek Clubhouse features a historic bar where many a golfer has recapped a round or two. Decorated with traditional hardwood, this classic clubhouse even offers a library where guests can relax with a book or just enjoy the solitude of the scenery.

So come get a glimpse into the classic architecture of the Carolina Sandhills at the much-loved and highly acclaimed Anderson Creek Golf Course!
