Chicopee Woods Golf Course
Enjoy a round on one of Georgia’s best courses with today’s feature: $25 for 18 Hole with Cart at Chicopee Woods Golf Course in Gainesville near Atlanta ($54 Value. Includes Tax. Expires March 1, 2018!)
Home to 27 of the state’s best golf holes, today’s feature course, Chicopee Woods in Gainesville, challenges golfers with three distinct 9-hole layouts that offer similar challenges in vastly different layouts.
The first nine, known as The Village, plays the longest of the three at just over 3,500 yards from the back set of tees. Unlike the rest of the course, water is virtually non-existent here, allowing players plenty of forgiveness if they happen to lose their shots left and right. Don’t get too comfortable spraying it, however, as plenty of mature trees and cleverly placed sand bunkers still stand between you and a low score on the day.
Chicopee’s second nine, known as The Mill, is the shortest and newest nine on the course and offers two of the best par-3s you’ll find anywhere in the Peach State. #2, with its forced carry over water, may seem intimidating off of the tee, but actually, plays as the easiest hole on the course – so swing away. But, be sure to be generous with your club selection here, as the winds off of the water can certainly be a factor in your distance.
The third nine, The School, plays in the middle of Village and Mill at just over 3,400 yards from the back set of tees. The perfect combination of water, mature trees, doglegs, and bunkers, The School is the course’s most well-rounded challenge – and one that will test every club in your bag and shot in your arsenal. Be especially cautious as you approach the par-4 6th hole that features a forced carry over water; as you’ll have to decide early if you want to lay up or try to hit the green in regulation with a bit of bravery.
Along with the fantastic course, Chicopee also features a fully stocked award winning pro shop, a driving range with private hitting bay, and a whole host of other amenities you’ll want to enjoy. Combine all of this with the facility's exquisite atmosphere, and you’ve got one of Georgia’s most impressive and enjoyable places to play.
