This lengthy par-72 measures up to 7,020 yards with a 73/129 rating. The rolling fairways resemble golf in Northern Michigan, though the layout recalls the wide-open space of a Scottish links-style venue.

Timber Trace Golf Club

18 holes carved right of the Livingston County countryside in today’s feature: $25 for 18 Holes with Cart at Timber Trace Golf Club in Pinckney ($56 Value. Expires May 15, 2019!)

If you were looking to take a break from the 6,000-yard club, you’ve found the right place. This James R. Dewling / Pat Conroy layout spans over 7,020 yards and offers golfers some room to breathe with its links-style appeal. Reminiscent of our own beautiful Northern Michigan golf courses, this course lacks neither length nor luster in every one of its 18 holes, which are all framed out of the mature Michigan countryside.

Nested within the community surrounding Lake Wallaby, Timber Trace’s bent grass fairways and undulating greens will give you all of the allure a championship course offers right in southeastern Michigan. This par-72 layout has a course/slope rating of 73/129 and Timber Trace has five different tee locations which will cater to golfers of all abilities.

You’ll kick off your round with a modest and uphill par-4 that plays left to right; golfers who risk a long second shot to a guarded green run the risk of the two bunkers guarding it but as they say, no risk, no reward! And if you're one for courses with unique features that add difficulty and leave an impression, look no further than the par-4 No.4 at Timber Trace, which features a 35-yard-long bunker along the outside of a dogleg right.

The back nine will begin with a par-4 that plays downhill the whole way. Getting on in two is fairly easy but those who frequent this course say to check the wind before selecting the club for your approach shot, as you’ll have to navigate sand and water to peg your approach. And returning to holes which leave a lasting impression on you, the 298-yard par-4 No.11 teaches the very definition of finesse. This short and narrow par-4 has a heavily bunkered two-tier green. Before you close up your round on the back-nine you’ll find the staggering 634 yard par-5 No.15, a dogleg-left which features plenty of fairway bunkers at the turn to swallow up long hitters and wayward shotsl.

Warm those clubs at the driving range, as you’ll need some premium tee and approach shots here at Timber Trace. Lastly, tally up your scores in the clubhouse restaurant with a cold beverage and some great food at a very solid 19th hole at Timber Trace. Come down to Timber Trace for a links-style slice of Northern Michigan golf transplanted in Southeastern Michigan!
