Carolina National Golf Club
Carolina National Golf Club is a semi-private club opened in 1998, six years after course architect Fred Couples' famous victory at The Masters Tournament. It seems that unforgettable experience carried with him through the years, and one can see as much reflected in his signature designs of the Heron, Egret, and Ibis courses.
The 27-hole design plays gracefully along the banks of the Lockwood Folly River, with fairways cut from thick wooded areas. The course's location about 40 minutes northeast of Myrtle Beach affords Carolina National a spot on the Grand Strand, and its well-crafted layout was recently named among the Top 5 "Most Beautiful Courses" on the Strand.
Carolina National has also achieved the status of Audubon-Certified Sanctuary Golf Course, which inspired the names of its three nines. Any combination of the three courses runs out to around 7,000 yards from the longest set of five tees, but checks in at as little 5,338 yards from the front. With something for everyone, the course will challenge the accomplished golfer, and also allow an equally exciting test to other golfers of all abilities.
