Not only are Pennsylvania’s universities home to some of the best academics in the country, they’re also home to some of the finest golf courses. With today’s feature, you’ll get the chance to take on one of the state’s best: Immergrun Golf Club at Saint Francis University.
An impressive and versatile layout that takes you through the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, Immergrun Golf Club’s very existence is the result of the coming together of two captains of industry: Donald Ross and Charles M. Schwab. Schwab, an alumni of Saint Francis University, commissioned the course from the legendary golf architect Ross who then brought his innovative and unique design abilities to the beautiful scenic property. The resulting course is an almost 7,000-yard playing experience that is truly one-of-a-kind, and will provide you with one of the highlight rounds of your season.
As you progress your way through the gorgeous layout, each of these nine unique holes will challenge every club and shot in your bag. You’ll find more than half of the fairways are lined with mature trees, making accurate tee shots of the utmost importance. Water comes into play frequently, and greens are protected by large sand bunkers that add yet another additional layer of challenge. Rated 73.0/125 from the back tees, an 18-hole round at Immergrun gives you the chance to take on each hole twice, allowing you two chances to achieve par. Navigate the elevation changes and keep your ball away from the variety of hazards, and you may just walk away from your round with a score you’ll be proud to show off to friends.
Located in Western Pennsylvania adjacent to the Saint Francis University campus, Immergrun has been part of the rich tradition of the Red Flash since opening in 1917, and when you step out onto the first tee, you’ll be presented with the exact same unchanged layout that Donald Ross envisioned all those years ago. Don’t miss your chance to test your game against the skills of one of golf’s legends – reserve your round now!
