Bent Tree Country Club
Enjoy a Sarasota staple with today’s feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart at Bent Tree Country Club in Sarasota ($40 Value. Includes Tax. Good Any Time until October 1, 2022!)
Originally opened for play on October 1st, 1975, today’s feature course, Bent Tree Country Club in Sarasota, has undergone major renovations twice over the past two decades to create a truly immersive and imaginative playing experience. The idyllic setting makes the 6,500-yard course a relaxing place to play, and the ingenious hole designs and championship-level challenge makes it a can’t-miss course for even the most skilled players.
Rated 72.4/133 from the back set of tees (of which there are seven to choose from), the par-72 layout features many surprises and tests to your game through its sprawling 18 holes. The fairways are tightly lined by trees making accuracy off of the tee a must, while the expansive greens make for surprisingly hittable targets on the approach. Combine that plenty of water from many area lakes and streams in play, and you’ve got yourself one of the most diverse golfing challenges you’ll experience this year.
As you make your way through the front nine, be sure to stay on the lookout for the course’s two signature challenges: the par-3 third hole and the par-5 9th. The third, requiring a 185-yard carry over water, ups the difficulty even more with a forward-sloped green and a mammoth bunker laying right in front of the putting surface. The 9th, playing a whopping 500-plus yards from the tips, features a double dogleg and huge areas of water standing between you and the green. Though both of these signature holes offer plenty of obstacles to your game, don’t think the challenge ends there: the back nine is considered by all to be the course toughest part.
No matter how you play out on the course, be sure to treat yourself to a relaxing 19th-hole treat in the course’s Grille Room. Featuring a full bar and a relaxing atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to toast your scores and plan your next outing to Bent Tree.
