Cardinal Creek Golf Club
Cardinal Creek Golf Club is a semi-private 27-hole golf course located about 40 minutes south of Chicago and a few miles west of the Illinois-Indiana border. Its three nine-hole layouts — designated "The North Course," "The South Course," and "The Center Course" — each clock in at a par of 36, and feature moderate length regulated by three tee locations.
A thorough mix of long, straight par-5s and dogleg par-4s makes for an interesting round. Water only comes into play on about a third of the holes, so the course's primary defenses are tree-lined fairways and bunkers guarding the approach.
Since taking over Cardinal Creek, new ownership has focused primarily on the guest experience, and their efforts have paid off. Playing conditions are much-improved; tee boxes and fairways are nicely cropped and the greens quick and true. The changes aren't limited to the course, either — the clubhouse has been refreshed as well.
