Beaufort Club
A short drive from historic downtown Beaufort, The Beaufort Club delivers a memorable coastal golf experience along North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. Designed by Bob Moore, this championship 18-hole layout has earned its reputation as one of the top public courses in the state, offering a blend of playability and challenge across five tee boxes and bent grass greens that reward confident ball striking and thoughtful course management.
Players are welcomed by an inviting layout that winds through the natural terrain just inland from the coast, with long corridors framed by pines and native hardwoods. The course stretches to 7,210 yards from the tips (Black tees), with a formidable slope of 146 and a rating of 75.4, offering a stern test for low-handicappers. The Blue, White, Yellow, and Red tees scale difficulty appropriately without sacrificing the character of the design. Water, elevation, and green-side bunkering are used strategically, particularly on closing holes that demand precision.
The practice facilities include a full driving range and large putting surfaces, making Beaufort Club a strong choice for those looking to warm up or sharpen their game. The Blue Heron, the on-site restaurant and bar located in the clubhouse, provides a relaxed dining experience, serving southern-style plates and local seafood with views overlooking the 18th green. It’s open daily to both members and the public.
Beyond the course, Beaufort Club offers amenities like a members-only pool, walking trails, and even a boat storage facility, making it a lifestyle destination for residents and vacationers alike. Whether drawn by the challenging golf or the laid-back Southern coastal atmosphere, Beaufort Club remains one of the premier public-access golf destinations in eastern North Carolina.
