The club, which celebrated its opening on Independence Day of 1967, sprawls over 160 acres adjacent to Prophetstown State Park. Its championship golf course, originally crafted by Robert Simmons and later revitalized by Tim Liddy, has been a fixture in Indiana's golfing community for over half a century.

Tim Liddy, renowned for his emphasis on sustainability and minimalist course design, has shaped Battle Ground Golf Club to harmonize with its natural surroundings. The course’s strategic use of water and fewer chemicals not only enhances playability but also preserves the beauty of the local environment.

The layout at Battle Ground is as fair as it is challenging, with wide bentgrass fairways presenting multiple lines of attack. The sizable greens and their large surrounds invite a variety of shot-making options, while water hazards on three holes add a level of intrigue and demand focus.
